Acción salva una especie

Author: Acción salva una especie

We are a NGO devoted to species conservation on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean. Our current main activity is the preservation of rare and endemic plant species. Accion salva una especie is now on facebook! Join the group! Discuss and get updates instantly! Seed collections: We cooperate with the seed banks at the Jardin Botanico Nacional Dr. Rafael Ma. Moscoso in Santo Domingo and Kew's Millennium Seed Bank. Seeds are stored in these seedbanks for 100-200 years as a backup in case wild populations are lost. Some wild plant populations we encounter have already dwindled to a size were seed collection becomes unsustainable and unfeasable. Follow our blog and support us to save these species!
